you may have activated the fn key.on my toshiba R10 hitting the fn and f11 key activates the numpad keys. (the keys that work as a normal numpad on a normal keyboard..
on my d300 it's the same. so, try that fn + F11 to gether, it may light a diode on the keyboard to indicate this.
