Tiscali and IE8

Hello,
A newly-purchased laptop has XP Pro plus IE8 and a Netgear wireless router and modem is used to access the Internet.
The Tiscali e-mail account that has been used for several years, on an older PC with XP Pro and IE6 now requires several login attempts before access is granted.
Is this something that has been identified as an incompatibility problem?

its for security reasons

as IE 8 has latest security updates
