COMPUTER SCREEN SHOW NOTHING

Hello,
i have problem with my computer, it was not use for few months. and when i tried to operate it again, my monitor show nothing. but everything just working fine, on the screen always shown " ceck signal cable" is there any suggestion please....

My Computer is Intel P4 / 512 / xp sp2.

check cable connection on VGA and Power cord
