Hi,

My computer had a bad power surdge due to lighting storm..long story short had it fixed however now I have no sound. I do not have the volume control on the bottom right of my screen as well I checked device manager and it shows no device installed. I don't know where to download the soundcard from as I don't know what I had. I remember something about "soundmax". I'm pretty sure its an onboard sound device. Can someone please help me, its been like this for months!

Here is my system info:

If it's true you got a bad power surdge due to lighting storm, then the sound device should have been to much exposed to it. As you say it's an onboard device so find your mobo utility cd and the sound driver should be in there. If you still don't get sound then i guess you will have to replace the mobo.
