System turning off automatically

Hello,
i hv just installed windows 7 ultimate in my pavilion dv 2117tx laptop.bt after installing it wen i go to the option rate this computer it automatically shuts down.wen playing a vedio also smtimes it shuts down.there is no fix time to turn off .firstly the moniter display turns off n then the cpu.plz tell me wat cn be the reason for this prb .
help me
n will this automatic shutdow affect my computer hardware.

Dear Ronnie,

The automatic shut downs may cause some parts of your hardware to get

damaged. Actually this particular problem should be resulting from your

graphic card or motherboard. Please check whether all the drivers that you

are using have been updated too.

this could be a few things like one the computer canot hold the windows 7 as it is too powerful or that your cpu is getting too hot and will shut oiff automatically
