How can I remove startup from previous owner

Hello,
I bought a computer for my grandaughter at an auction for a business that was closing the company info still comes up at boot and login It is windows xp and one is Windows 98 I would like it to say her name whichever one is easier to change for her (windows) thanks

i will advise you to format the laptop and make a fresh windows installation

and customize it in your style
