Computer beeps, bio page, then black screen

Hi there, my computer has been shutting itself off for months, yesterday it was shutting itself off and on after being on for a few hours and in frustration I shut it off at the wall .... now when I go to reboot I get a beep then the bios page real quick that says memory ok .... primary something or other secondary slave .... then it goes to the black grey screen before windows XP, but windows doesn't boot up it just stays a black grey blank screen .... if I hold down delete .... the setup page comes up ,,.. can I do something on this to fix it? .... if I push in the reset button next to the power button on the tower does this help? ..... thanks
