How do I setup a yahoo email for my motorola Closed

Hello,
My name is walter and recently I bought a Motorola evoke from my local cricket company. I have read information on the internet about how to setup my email but when i put the information in my phone it says that my network is unavailable please help!!!

Did you pay for a "data plan"?  You can't get email without one.

I had the same issue, you have to buy a plan with yahoo to have mobile email with them, if you go to gmail and setup a free email and then put that info into your phone it will work and its free and it will sync up with your picasa on your phone and youtube... it took me forever to find this out but thats what i did and now it works with no problem

i have done this and it works fine:


account name: yahoo 
email adress: your email 
login name: your email without the "@yahoo.com" 
password: your password 
server type: IMAP4 
incoming server name: imap.mail.yahoo.com 
incoming server port: 143 
SSL Usage: off 
outgoing server name: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com 
outgoing server port: 2525 
SSL Usage: off 
Outgoing Authentication: Auto 
Use Outgoing Login: do not check 
leave the last 3 blank 


also have added music to my phone with out buying!! by doing this:

just change extensions to mp3 on my computer and place them in the folder named motorola the one with the temp folder i it DO NOT PUT IT IN THE TEMP FOLDER! (just the motorola folder CONTAINING the 'temp' folder) and then while it is plugged in press the build library button it might not work then unplug the phone but on the computer make sure u safely remove hardware first then it should find the music--->worked for me!
