Performance Problem with Dell Latitude D600

Hello,
i am facing problem with my Latitude D600 Notebook. main problem is that earlier when i used to Install softwares like MS Office, Macaffee etc it used to take 5 minutes. but now it takes about 30-35mins to install those softwares. moreover when i play videos the sound goes ahead of the display. i've already changed the hard disk but the performance is the same. what should i do.. please help me.

free spaces on your hard drive and install missing drivers and codecs

Right click on "my computer" and select "properties". Check the speed of the CPU - should be 1.6ghz. If you are using a non-DELL AC adaptor or have a broken laptop/adapter, DELL has built into the bios that it will detect "unknown adapter" (which you can check in bios setup). If this is the case, DELL has put in code to run the CPU at 600mhz instead of 1600mhz and will not let you charge the battery. Perhaps your speed problems are due to DELL breaking you laptop like this -- as they have mine.
