Solving black screen problem of dell inspiron 3420

i have dell inspiron 3420 laptop which is around 1 year old.From last few days when i turn on the laptop,there is black screen and white cursor visible on the screen and nothing else.I started pressing various functional keys such as f2, f12 etc but nothing happened.Now i request your goodself to help me in solving it as i have lot of files stored in it which i need urgently.

Try this:

1. Remove the battery and cable
2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds
3. Replug and start
