System 32

Hello,
I have a Dell Laptop that is about 2 years old. I don't use it but about every six months when I travel. It was working fine the last time I used it, however, working fine is in the past tense. When I turn it on now it tells me the system 32 is not working. I ran a complete scan on it and everything checks out just fine. What is the problem, and what is system 32? Thank you,
