format? your reinnstalling your OS? if so... is it from a real disc or wasnt from a burnt copy? if its from a burt copy it may need to be reburnt could have errors , or maybe if your trying to downgrade you mat have you earse everything off of the hdd first with a diffrent program, if so the look for a copy of ERD Comander and run the boot disc and format hdd that way then try reinstalling
