Counting between dates using excel

Hello,
How do I count days between two dates with out using networkings which include working days non working days and holidays

Hi kimochi

If you want to know how many days are between a date in cell A1 and a date in cell A2, then simply use the formula: =A2-A1.

Hi

I have a date typed (like 12.10.10 indicating 12th of October 2010) in A2 and inserted the current daye [by using =today()] in the B2 cell. I want to get the difference in these two dates in C2.
I have used =B2-C2 formula, but its giving #VALUE message.
CAN YOU HELP?

12.10.10 10/29/2010 #VALUE!

I get this also.
The first cell is not being recognised as a date. Notice the difference between the two?
