Xp problems

Hello,hope some1 can help me please i have got a virus on my c drive even though i have kaperskey installed the pc will not boot up in any mode not even with the supplied recovery disc i disconnected my c drive and only had my d drive connrcted the pc would then accept the recovery disc but with a mesage that i would lose all stuff on my c drive but i could do with saving the stuff [pics of my children etc but more importantly my daughters uni work help

This sounds more like your C drive has failed than a virus problem.

many thanks,im not the best on pcs does that mean a new hard drive can my info on damaged harddrive be saved and how many thanks

You might be able to salvage some data if you connect the drive via a USB adapter. But, the drive may be unreadable. A good PC repair shop can do the installation and attempt the data recovery.
