My pc cant recognise my head phones

Hello,
I have a compatible sound card installed on my pc but it cant recognize my speakers and when i open the master volume it sais that i dont have a sound device plugged .Please help me

Dear Andi,

Please get to the device manager to see whether you have to get the sound drivers updated for it to work properly. You will see a yellow exclamation on the driver if this is the case.
