My Samsung DVD is not read/write any CDs

My Samsung DVD player is not Read/write any CD's. what might be the problem? Could you please help me in this issue?

My System Configuration details:
MS Windows XP - Professional Service Pack - 2. Version 2002
Player - VLC and Media.
Explorer - Opera 9.27
Sound Blaster - 5.1
