Loop safe mode etc..accessed blue screen

I have a Toshiba Satellite,windows xp, when I switch on it just keep rebooting to offer safe mode and the rest, I pressed a key dont know which one and accessed the blue screen: Memory Management shows " stop: 0x0000001a(0x00041785,0xc0c00000,0xfffffff,0x00000000). I do not have any discs as xp built in is there anything I can do to fix this? I do not want to wipe clean as many important docs and photos in laptop., I am not vety computer literate ans would require a stp by step guide if there is one.
