Why wont the volume work on my Lap top?

Please Help Me. I have a windows 7 Toshiba Laptop and The Volume on it cant seem to work. It was fine at first then my computer went black, turned on and everything is working fine exept the volume. Ive even tried all the settings and I can seem to find what is wrong. Please Help!!

It may need drivers installed, check in the device manager to see if the drivers are installed

how do i turn up the volume on my acer webcam. i tried going to control panel and clicked on sound but that didnt work.
