Why wont cod4 work on my windows vista?

i put in cod4 and some other CD's and they wont run at all. its supposed to pop up and say install or something like that but it wont do that. what do i do iv had this problem for about a year and a half what do i do?

Does the cd drive read other cds?Is it a cd or dvd drive?Please specify.
