Good Sound Card, but No Sound

I am running Windows XP Pro, and have only one problem. Although it says that my sound card is working properly - I have no sound. Not with speakers (3 sets tried) or headphones. I checked all settings and can't find anything wrong. Sound is on and volume is up.

Does anyone have any idea why I can't get sound and how I can fix it?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

any thing u think tat u have missed doing like update your drivers, install you drivers or it put in right
