External HD not formatted? (SP3)

Hello,
After installing SP3, whenever i try to connect a Western Digital 120GB External HD, Autoplay will start and then nothing. Get msg saying Disc is not formatted. It contains all my mp3 so I don't want to format. Having same problem on my desktop as well as my laptop. Just installed SP3 a couple weeks ago. Can't even rtight click on drive in My Computer...just locks up. Searched forums and have already tries disabling/enabling 1394. Thanks in advance for any help.
