Lost music

hi there, i have seemed to have lost all my music from my i tunes, but still have onmy phone..but obviously if i try to ad more music to my phone i will loose all the other music wont i? i need to start the music libary again, but can i keep the other music on the phone? what do you suggest please, thanks
