No picture when connecting toshipa laptop toClosed

Hello, 

I hooked up my toshipa laptop to 52'' Samsung TV but nothing happens Toshiba does recognize that there is a TV hooked up to it. I can't get it any picture or any sound, please help!!!

Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 8.0
