Indeed, I'm sure that you're not the only person who has similar problems. I think the problem occurs due to the phone's settings, perhaps...
As you said that the photos taken with your iPhone appear correctly on WhatsApp Web and not with your Samsung phone, try comparing the settings between them.
Check if the screen rotation is on or off, if they use the same photo format and resolution, and if the camera settings on your Samsung are defined in the same way as your iPhone. This should help to understand what is causing the problem.

Hi,
Try rotating the photos using Microsoft Paint. Right-click on your photo and open it with Paint. In "Home", select Rotate. Then, go to File to save the rotated photo as a copy of the original.
I recommend you to save it in PNG, JPG or GIF format.

Thanks for your reply. It's a workaround, true, and I have done this, but it doesn't actually address the issue. Why does it happen? How can it be fixed permanently without having to individually change every photo? Surely I can't be the only one with this problem?
