I have a 160gb Western Digital 2.5" HDD which came out of a Macintosh I book 14" loaded with Leopard 10.6. I would like to use it as an external hdd for my windows 7 desktop PC. I've put the hdd into an external case and connected it to my PC, however, my computer will not find the device in "windows explorer" but in my device manager it is listed under "generic usb disk usb device. What I would like to do is reformat the disk to windows NDFS and be able to use it. But if I cannot see it o n my computer, then I cannot format it and therefore cannot use it.

I would try this free partition software

https://download.cnet.com/EaseUS-Partition-Master-Free-Edition/3000-2248_4-10863346.html

it should allow you to delete the existing partition(s) and create a new partition thzt Windows can understand.

Good Luck
