Someone used a Dell restore disk to "upgrade" your HP computer? I am surprised that anything works. You will need to download the correct drivers from the HP web site. Try www.hp.com and look for the "support" tab.

Yep, you need to install wireless adapter driver on your Windows Vista machine, after that can only detect and connect to wireless network. If you need more helps, take a look on this wireless adapter configuration example.
