Remove first 2 letters of a filename

Thanks for the prompt reply,

actually i have say 500 tif files in a folder, want to rename all files by removing the first 2 letters of each filename by using ms dos command

do you have an example of say 10 file names that you wish to change.
and i'll have a look for you.
is there any particular reason you need to do this in dos?
