IPOD WON'T CHARGE OR CONNECT!!

Hello,
I had my ipod in my pocket when my friend poured water all over me and my ipod unfortunatly got wet. my friend's mom just dried it !(when i told her to put it in rice!!)and she said it worked. it' turns on and plays music but when i connect it to my computer it won't connect or charge!! WHAT DO I DO? PLZ HELP!
