ITunes Wont Re-Download

Help! I have iTunes but it wouldn't open so i undownloaded it and tried to download it again and it would finish downloading but than there wouldn't be a iTunes Shortcut on my Desktop which normally goes there when i do this.
(This is not the first time it wouldn't open and i re-downloaded it.)
