I can't fix adobe flash player...HELP ASAP!

Hello,

I have been trying for WEEKS to install adobe flash player on my computer. I have a Sony Vaio operating with Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit settings with Internet Explorer 8. I have checked out many, MANY sites, including adobe itself. I reconfigured various settings involving internet explorer, and I have also removed ALL adobe software from my computer. I can't watch videos, I can't play games, I can't listen to music online, things on my myspace and facebook are messing up, I can't catch up with my favorite television shows online. PLEASE HELP!!!
