the sims 2 seasons wont install after disc 2 Closed

Hello, 

when i put in disc 1 it goes to 66% and stops. it tells me to put in disc 2 and when i do, nothing happens.. if i try taking the disc out it says to insert disc 2 so it must know its in there its just not running it. help me please!! 

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 8.0

Please consider checking whether the cd is not scratched or if the system requirements is being met.
