Hi there,
The internal electronic board may be damaged or hard driver itself you have to change the complete enclosure ,if you can feel vibration while connecting the device means the hard disk is still good ,else before proceeding with all these,plug on system open run type diskmgmt.msc and see if its there if found right click on it and format.
