Problems with My hp dv6000

Hello,
My hp dv6000 was working fine until this morning. The only thing I can think of is that my daughter brought my laptop back to me still running and placed it on my bed (I didn't know it was still on). I watched a movie on it afterward then shut it down later. This morning I pressed the power button and the indicator lights flashed and went off; no powering up or anything. Is it fried?

H i there,
When its on bed it did not get enough space to free air and thus it was overheated and shuts down automatically,remove the battery and attach adapter to it ,power on ,if successful shut down and insert battery and let for charging,
