Hello,
When i try to run an exe file, it automatically opens up internet explorer. internet explorer doesn't work. How can i run my exe files without opening up internet explorer.
note- the exe icons are internet explorer icons

try this 1,
Just copy the text starting from"Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" --->
open notepad and paste it---->save the file as fix.reg (Note: don't forget the
extension .reg while saving the file.)
Then double click that file ( fix.reg) ---> click on Yes.

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.exe\UserChoice]

Hello,
This problem may be due to a error made on your PC. If this is not the case, then it is necessarily a virus.
1) System restoration to a date previous to the problem:

2) Follow these steps to disinfect your PC:
Branches all removable media to your PC
Update your antivirus and run a full scan of your PC. Remove viruses. Save the report
Download Malwarebytes here

Description of your system( PC, OS,Motherboard...)
Description of your problem
Copy-past the reports of: Your antivirus, Malwarebytes and hijackthis
