C drive c drive unknows partition

Hello,
i am using windows xp after some time i used software and shud down pc. i have started next day pc but did not start my pc than i was used bootable xp cd but ginving a massese c drive unknows partition i have very important data in My Documents so please help me..
Same thing and same mess i ll get in my pc, but if i reinstall the windows again i cant find the repaired the windows its shown me format for new installation ,,but i have more data in this drive,,
Help me what can i do ?? how to recover the previous installed windows..

Hi,
Try this 1
1)Place the windows xp cd and boot from it.
2) When you find a window with "Window Recovery Console " press R
3) Select the drive number where Windows XP is installed. Mostly it will be "1".
Just enter 1 ---> press enter --->type administrator password.
4) Then enter these commands
fixmbr and press enter.
When it asks you that "Are you sure you want to write a new MBR" press y to
confirm it.
5) Then type this command
fixboot and press enter.
When it asks for confirmation press y.
Try this 1
