Hello,
I just recently moved and bought a flat screen dell monitor on craigs list. Before I moved I had an old CRT monitor that worked fine. I tried to hook everything up. The monitor will power on but as soon as I plug the cable into the computer the green button flashes to orange and the screen goes black. I tried to hook up my old crt monitor thinking i got screwed on Craig's List but it does the exact same thing. I've tried holding down F8. Nothing works. HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,
try this 1
Remove the RAM from the slot, clean the RAM and place it back properly or place
it in another slot.

The video card may have become dislodged inside the desktop. I would power down the computer, open up the case and completely remove the video card and then re-insert it. Then power up again. You may have some issues with screen resolution and/or refresh rate since you have changed monitors. If you can get it to work with the CRT - I would set the display to 800x600 and 60Hrz and then power off and switch the monitor.
Good Luck
