Older PC shuts off by itself

Hello, I just started having this problem. When I log in, my desktop will load but as soon as I try and open any programs (click on icons) it clicks off to black sreen and automatically begins to boot back up. I wanted to run a virus scan but it won't open my AV program before it cuts off again. Running Windows XP on an older pc.

Help?
