Add a computer to a network w/a flash drive

Hello,
How do I use a computer on my network to add another computer. If I follow MS instructions and make a flash drive it says to insert the drive into the wireless access point THEN the new computer. The access point I assume is the router and ther is no place to put the drive. I can't get access to the wbe based setup page since the idiot who set the network up assigned a name and I don't know what it is

I think you are a bit confused with "internet sharing" instructions. The router does not need to be changed to add an additional computer to a home network.
