Hello, I have windows 7 and my windows live onecare has stopped working. Along with that, my start menu does not work now either. It opens but nothing happens when i click a tab. Therefore, I cannot use backup and restore or windows defender. Also, I cannot download anything. My screen indicates that I have no internet connection, but this is really the only thing I DO have that works properly. Please help me if you can.

Greetings,
In the circumstances you have described, the best first solution to try is to perform a non-destructive restore, which mean to restore your system back to a date before the problem occured.

Hello Pat,
Thank you very much for your contribution. Tell us, did it work?

Yes. Hallelujah! Here's some more info, which is more discussion about fixes: https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/531bbf4f-6f1a-4f44-afba-de263196269d/onecare-unresponsive-uninstall-failing-solution?forum=onecaregeneral And, I'm going to uninstall Onecare, which is now discontinued; I am not going to run the Onecare cleanup tool because I've read that it may delete some drivers that are used by other programs and am going to run CCleaner (Free/Donation). I'm reading this to find a replacement for Onecare: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/ten-best-antivirus-programs/ -Pat
