Hello,
I have an AsRock board 775i65GV(old old one) which run ddr400 ram on it. one day i wanted to put windows xp on it and i had succfessfully installed it without problems with the dvd drive. like 2 months after i decided to upgrade to winodws 7 becaus i've bought some 2GB RAM more. Well, at home i have 2 PC but one DVD drive. While the AsRock was running Windows Xp the dvd drive was in the other computer which has a Biostar board in it. I removed the drive from the Biostar PC and put it un the AsRock, but...... Nothing happened, apart the dvd drive led that is on. The PC do not recognise the dvd drive.
I thought that it was the IDE cable but nope, it wasn't as the dvd drive works well in the Biostar PC. Then i asked a friend to lend me his cd drive.......same problem, the led is on but when i press the eject button the drive remains closed. I have to face a big problem, i've bought windows 7 but my pc cannot install it as it dows not recognise any dvd drive please Help!!! Help!!!

This is my configuration:

AsRock 775i65GV(DDR1)
Intel Celeron 2.66GHz
2.5Gb of RAM
Nvidia GeForce 7600GT
Hard disk Hitachi 90GB
AMI Bios
