DELL WINDOWS XP GOES BLACK SCREEN

Hello,
hi I have a dell windows xp old one and the other day the internet was not responding and the laptop wount turn off oranything so i jue pressed the turn off/on bottum and the next time i turned it on it stays black the wole time it wont do anything help please!

Hi there,

Its a Dell desktop pr laptop?when power is pressed you get the leds blinking,fan and hard drive spinning?please provide more information.

its a dell laptop and just when you turn it on it start booting then this symbol appears _ for a few second and after that its stays blank.
