I recently downgraded my compaq c700 to xp. I downloaded all the drivers and I got every device turned on. The wireless Atheros device is on and I can view available wireless networks. I can even connect to my home wireless network. When I try to use the web browser Google works and the search engine works fine. This indicates to me that it is on the internet. When I try to go to a different site however the site does not load or it takes a long time and does not load with graphics or anything. It is also extremely extremely slow. Also the computer says that the wireless card is on and I can view available networks but the wireless button that goes from orange to blue just stays orange. Even when I can view wireless networks and connect to my home network. Has anyone seen anything like this. Any suggestions to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
