Hi there,
Battery may be down and the adapter not supplying power to system,try with another adapter if someone has the same or connect to another wall outlet and check or change the fuse on the plug of adapter ,if still not solved then feel free to revert back with more information what you tried till now and results.Also was the laptop hot when this occurred?
