Black screen with cursor.

Hello,
I am running Windows 7, and after i get the Windows 7 loading screen and before the welcome screen i get a black screen with my cursor and after about 10 seconds it goes away and goes to the welcome screen, and after that my whole laptop is very slow and unstable and laggy, does anyone know what the problem is and the sloution? please someone help!!

Hi there,

Please provide your system specs to guide you for changes to be made to it it run faster,also you may be having this as there are too much applications loaded with windows on startup,remove unused applications.

umm ive done the startup config, system specs : HP Pavillion DV4 7200 RPM HDD, AMD Turion X2, ATI Radeon 4200 128 MB dedicated memory, 4 GB random acsess memory
