USB Sound Card

Hello, i have the "No audio output device is installed" on my computer and i have tried everything under the sun, and i have come to terms with the fact that my sound card is dead. Now rather than paying more than half the price of my laptop for a new motherboard i was wondering if a USB sound card would be a option.

And also:

1. would this allow me to hear World of Warcraft in-game sounds through my headset?

2. would this allow me to hear other players on Ventrillo through my headset?

3. would this allow me to talk to other players on Ventrillo through the headsets mic?
