Speakers not working!!

Hello,

Recently i formatted my PC to WIN XP sp2.but now now i cant get the speakers to work.There's no sound.

I installed some drivers>> VIA AC'97 Audio Controller (WDM) for Altec Lancing PC speakers but still there is no sound.

i'm not sure if that is the right driver.Please help

Hello,

Try this 1.

Click on Start --> Run --> type devmgmt.msc and click on OK.

"Device Manager" will be opened. If you notice any yellow mark then install the

correct drivers. You can download the drivers from the manufacture website

and install it.

Or

Let us know your PC\Motherboard brand name and model number.

I tried to install the drivers through device manager but it didn't find any drivers and even an online search didn't return any results.

Hi there,

You cannot just install any driver you get for sound,use driver cd if you do not have the you can download it freely from its manufacturer website or even make use of driver detective,have it downloaded using the link below:

Thanks for the reply netsa.Yeah i'm well aware of it that just any driver wont work.I just did it out of irritation.I have been trying to get it working since the last 2 days and nothing seems to be working and i still dint find the drivers for it.

already tried Driver-detective too but it requires a premium membership to download drivers.lol so no thanks
