Security problem in windowsClosed

Hello,

I have been visiting a lot of sites which may be infested with viruses. Tonight my windows security updates which was turned off started beeping that I have a security problem. When I clicked it it asked me to buy windows spyware. I have turned off security updates on Windows and am greatly pained by this problem. 

This problem started as soon as I downloaded an exe file. It could have been a virus. I have been running various anti-virus software. All of them show that no threat has been detected. Can you please give me suggestions to get this of this security warning? Will my system performance be seriously affected? Will it affect my O.S?

Please help me as I am very worried. I have my lab exams shortly and rely heavily on my desktop.

The Microsoft security updates had nothing to do with your problem.  Go to this Microsoft site for information on the removal of this malware.  If your lucky all you have is  a malware program that is trying to persuade you to buy a bogus product like Antivirus 2008 or AntiSpyware 2008.

Try SpyBot - Search and Destroy (Google it) or Windows Defender (Windows Update Site), (both free). If you DL SpyBot, make sure you get the proper program (SpyBot-Search & Destroy), as a similar program (SpyBot) actually installs Adlware onto your computer and then informs you that you need to buy the program in order to fix it.


And keep away from the dodgy porn sites.......LOL
