I have been having trouble with playing LAN games through my router, Both computers are plugged into the router they both get Internet and the one computer (vista) can see the other (XP) through the network locations but cannot access it, while the (XP) cannot even see the (vista) but both have internet. This is the steps I have taken already
-Computers hooked up into router and have internet
-Both computers IP adresses are on the same wave length and unique
-Both computers are on same WORKGROUPs
If there are any other answers you need just ask.
The reason for this is because I have some very old and cherised games that no longer have a online server to connect to, and I'd like both computers to have Internet and not have to haul the computers out and unplug internet to use a crossover cable.
P.S. LAN games work perfectly when I use a crossover cable, it is when I try to play a LAN game through the Router with both computers having Internet.
