Black screen after boot screen

Hello,

Yesterday i was downloading an emulator for PS2, then after extracting it i was looking around the folder. Then suddenly my computer started to restart, it only shows the boot screen area and then nothing just black screen. I tried to enter to safe mode but it seems i cant get in the windows also.
Any solution to this without having to re format the C: drive and re-install windows.
My Computer spec :
ECS A780GM-A motherboard
AMD X2 5000+
corsair twins 2*2048
WDC 160gigs harddrive
Windows XP SP2.

hi
i would suggest that you do a "system restore" but don't think it will work since your "safe mode" is not working either!
so i think you have no other options than to format the system!

how about using the repair system on windows installation??

No I havent, how do you do that exactly?? I havent been using dos or any kind of that command, i'm just a plain newb user :P
