Hey all.

So I screwed up....bigtime.....

I have a 2008 windows Vista Laptop from HP. I did a full system restore to restore it to factory condition to give to my sister since I just purchase a new Laptop and she needs one. I was at home (small studio apartment with my child) and I did the system restore and restarted the PC to set it up for my sister.

I got through most of it....naming the pc.....registering her information....then the stupid tutorials pop up EXTREMELY loud. Its like midnight and I am frantically trying to turn off sound but the PC's volume can't turn down a this stage and you can't skip...I think I pressed something wrong and the window closed and the PC sat there witha generic blue screen.

I waited 10 min or so before I realized it was not going to do anything. SO I was forced to hold down the power button to turn it off. When I restarted....the OS will no longer start. It will open with the HP screen and possibly the one other generic windows screen....then it will go bla

Things I have tried -

1. An Additional system restore
2. System Restore from discs
3. launched startup repair (their only advice was to unplug whatever caused the problem.....laughable

So here I am.....with a useless PC that my sis...who really needs it...can no longer use.

HELP :(

I have the Diagnosis from the startup repair if you need information from it.

If you've tried the System Restore disc, it should reinstall the Operating System again, If not I would sugest getting a generic Operating System Disc, see if you have any Windows XP, Vista, or 7 install discs lying around. If not a form of Linux always works and its free, if you want to use Linux I'd suggest downloading Ubuntu and installing it. Sorry if I wasn't of more assitance.
